Naughty thoughts

Well, today was a day of firsts.

I hit the gym for the 1st time in '08.
I ate a healthy meal at Golden Corral for the 1st time ever.

I hate the Jerseyville Subway and 2nd Cinema video. I went to the video store today to see their stock of PS3 games. They probably have a total of 20, and half of them were out. Pathetic. Now for some reason they still buy PS2 games and have hundreds that are always there. Why keep them in stock? That's like a movie store renting VHS movies. Most don't even carry them any more. Also, they have a few more Xbox360 games than PS3, but not much. Still way too much old shit.

As for Subway, I was in a hurry as I had to get to a basketball game and walked in around Noon. Now I expected a line at this time but what I didn't expect was one F'in person working at the busiest time of the day on a Saturday.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually got much better service in Carrollton.
Ok.

If I was a religious guy I would need to go to church tomorrow and confess to many many impure thoughts. We went to a Girls High School basketball tournament today...wow. That's all I'm gonna say.

Tonight is a game night with Kevin and his bro in law and their families. The adults will be playing Rock Band while the kids watch movies and play Wii. I also rented Scene It for the Xbox, we'll see if that's fun.

I felt wobbly after going to the gym. My legs felt like jello and my arms hurt from lat pulldowns. All I did was 15min on the treadmill, 10 on the recumbent, lat pulldowns and body weight squats. Sheesh, I feel like I did an Ironman. I'm going to try to hit the gym again tomorrow.

That's all for now.

HD

Sorry I missed a few days, it’s been pretty hectic around here. I’ll try and give you some good substance to make up for it.

Where to begin, oh, how about Wednesday. Well, ate healthy for breakfast and found that I was down 13lbs that morning. I know that I will fluctuate, but was still good. I fell off the wagon at my business lunch. Not horribly, but I had a Caesar salad with dressing and cheese and chicken tenders. Also polished off a small shake on the way home from work. Ate healthy today, although probably a bit too much oatmeal at work, I feel like I overate, but it was all healthy food.

Tuesday after work I bought a Playstation 3. While this may seem redundant to those of you
that know how into the Xbox360 I am let me tell you this, after watching a Blu-Ray movie at Brashley’s house on their PS3 I had to have one. So, I walked out of Best Buy $500 dollars lighter with the PS3 and 3 movies. I bought 3:10 to Yuma, Waiting and Mr. Brooks. The PS3 came with Spiderman 3, so I’m already up to 4 Bluuvies (my term for Blu Ray movies).

Also, on Sunday I was a dork and turned the TV up too loud when playing Rock Band and blew the left speaker. It sounds HORRIBLE, but I figured it would be no big deal because we have a home theater system that we just haven’t hooked up yet. Think again… I got the receiver out last night to hook it up and found that it had none of the next generation connections. What to do, what to do. Well, we went to Circuit City tonight and I bought a Denon 7.1 HD receiver. So now we’re big pimpin with high class audio AND video. I will be getting it hooked up tomorrow, ran out of time tonight. Now all I need to do is upgrade my 1080i DLP to one of these and I'll be set.

Kris also ordered our new furniture last night, so we will be getting a dark brown leather love seat and recliner. We are only ordering those two pieces for now because we don’t like the look of the sofa and we’re not sure that we need it. We may end up getting another love seat if we need more seating.

BTW, for those of you that were concerned, Kris is doing much better. Cubby is behaving well out during the day and we’re all moderately healthy at this point.

Ok, that’s enough for now. Later.

Halftime

I'm pissed. The Buckeyes are doing it again. They came out looking great and have fizzled. 24 unanswered points? Ridiculous. I'm not going to dwell on it, but I'm not pleased.

We are slated to get some very severe weather here tonight, there's all types of rotating storms headed our way. I don't get very concerned about this, but I can guarantee that Kris will make us head to the basement at least one.

Speaking of Kris...last night was not good. I was awoken at about 3am by Kris, not exactly sure how, but she was shivering, shaking and just overall looking like crap. Well, I did what any normal guy would do...I went back to sleep. Just kidding. I got up, moved her to the couch, got her wrapped in blankets, got her water, a wet washcloth, a tray table and I also cleaned out the trash basket and set it by her. I couldn't get to sleep so we watched Seinfeld. At about 4am she starts heaving...and I mean really heaving. Next thing I know there's violent vomit shooting into the trash can. At this point I'm very glad I had some foresight or I'd of been cleaning for awhile. She puked at least 5 or 6 times. I felt very bad for her, but there was nothing I could do. It was either the flu or bad Taco Bell. My biggest problem was that the smell of regurgitated Taco Bell was getting to me. I got her cleaned up and we fell asleep. About 6am, more vomiting. I went to Caseys and got her some Diet 7up and crackers and got a few hours of sleep. I ended up getting to work about 9:15am and Kris stayed home of course. Poor girl.

I had a very healthy day today. Breakfast was turkey sausage and a protein shake. Lunch was a South Beach meal and a sugar free pudding cup. Dinner was a spinach salad with chipotle turkey strips on top. Yum! I'm getting the eating dialed in, but so far haven't hit the gym. Baby steps.

I was working at a medical clinic tonight and had them take my BP. 154/90. Not horrible, but not good by any means. I hadn't taken my Lisinopril yet, so that may account for part of it. I'm hoping to lower my BP with some good weight loss.

That's about it for now. BTW, if OSU loses, don't try and console me tomorrow. It won't work.

Gimme an O...Gimme a B...

Gimme an AMA! That's right, Obama is emerging as the Democratic candidate pretty soundly. I think it would be a great change, however I would love to see Hillary in some sort of office as well, possibly a VP?

Sorry I didn't write last night, I completely forgot about it. We went to Brashley's about 2pm for a late holiday party with Ashley's family. It was a good time. Couple of funny things...got to watch Ash's dad dig up their yard to find $1.37 with a metal detector, learned how pocket knives can be an accessory and mistook a cheese dip for chili. Watching the metal detector at work was cool, I had never seen one used before. It's another of those toys that I'd like to own but would never spend the money on.

The food was excellent and since I skipped bfast I was famished. Well, I gave in an binged. They had honeybaked ham, chips and dip, chili, lil smokies and potatoes to name a few of the delicious dished. Honeybaked Ham has to be one of my top 5 weaknesses, I love that stuff. Anyway, after the relatives left we played some Rock Band and watched some football. Brian is off the hook with vocals and rocked out on the drums as well. The highlight of the night was watching B sing Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld. Hilarious.

Today was a lazy day, just laid around in the morning, watched both football games and then American Gladiators. I have to say that the new AG is awesome. I like Hulk as an announcer and loved the events, especially the ones they brought back from the old show.

Weighed myself today and held by breath...down 6lbs! Wow, I expected quite the opposite. On that success I ate good all day and cleaned out the fridge before going shopping. I hit wally world and picked up some turkey breast, fish filets, lean ground beef and boneless chicken breasts. Grabbed some protein shakes, spinach, skim milk and FF cheese to finish the meals off. I think I now have plenty of healthy food for next week.

The weather here was crazy! 70 degrees on January 6th. That's insane. Thank you Al Gore for opening our eyes.

One last thing. We've started letting Cubby be out at night while we sleep and he's loving it. He's like a whole new dog. Super quiet, relaxed, behaving better, etc. I think he gets so wound up in the crate that he lets it all loose when we let him out. He still gets crated when we're at work, but who knows, maybe we'll work up to him being out all the time. Also, the new food may be working, he hasn't been nearly as stinky this weekend as normal.

Night for now.

Britney

Breaking News! Britney loses mind, kids, custody and last shred of dignity! News at 11.

Here's the thing, does anyone care? I for one don't. She looks like a piece of strung out trailer trash in this picture and while I know that she is probably not "prepped" for being on camera I don't care. She's clearly medicating, more than likely with illegal drugs. I will choose to remember the smokin hot Britney from the olden days.

As for everything else, today was pretty much a non-event. Got alot done, had lunch, worked, went home, napped, etc. Pretty boring.

We did get a new Rock Band setup after returning our defective one last night and this new one seems to be improved. The USB hub is different and the strum bar on the guitar is much improved. If I had to guess I'd say that we now have v2 of the hardware. Hopefully this stuff lasts longer.

I'm feeling very lethargic tonight. I'm sure it has to do with the change in eating. I'm going from eating tons of sugar and carbs to a high protein and almost no sugar diet. One of the guys at work on another Biggest Loser team brought in a huge cookie cake to tempt others to cheat. I didn't succumb and ate healthy all day. The gamesmanship at work is hilarious and should make this fun, assuming people continue to participate.

I don't know if I'm the only one this happens to, but when I'm woken up suddenly or wake up in a strange position, spot, time etc I get really anxious. Kris says it's normal, but for me it tends to last for awhile, sometimes up to an hour. I don't know if it only happens if I'm in REM or what, but tonight I laid down to watch some TV in the bedroom and fell asleep. When Kris woke me up about 2 hours later I felt really disoriented and anxious. It went away in about 20 min, but I hate feeling like that at all.

Tomorrow we go to watch Lia cheer for the first time at 10am then I think we're going to go see National Treasure 2 in the afternoon. While on the topic of movies, I have to say that I highly recommend you go see I am Legend, especially in the theater. I got it on DVD (don't ask how) but I think it would look amazing in the theater.

I'm hoping for a gym visit in there somewhere tomorrow.

Random thought

Does Panera give discounts on food to attractive women under the age of 25 wearing North Face jackets? Sheesh, I just went to lunch there and it looked like a convention. I'm not complaining mind you....

Thoisday

Better late than never right? Just getting in under the closing bell.

Today was another productive day, which is a good trend. I had alot of trouble pulling out of the holiday funk at work but seem to be on track big time now. Ate a good breakfast of oatmeal, snack of lunchmeat and a steak salad from Quizno's for lunch. Only had one piece of the bread and had a healthy dressing.

Now here's where I hit the skids. Big time.

My company is doing a Biggest Loser competition beginning tomorrow at 9am. I told myself that I didn't care, I was going to start eating good Jan 1, which I did. Well, I convinced myself, pretty easily I might add, that it would be in my best interests to have a big meal tonight. So Kris and I hit the golden arches for tons of grease and fat. Then I had a cinnamon roll, some m and m's and a nightly snack of lucky charms! Holy shit! Not only did I fall off the wagon it ran over me. All I can say is that I hope it was at least worth it from a strategic point of view.

I need to rant for a minute on Mike Huckabee. What a joke this guy is. Can anyone with a brain believe that this guy is a good idea for our country? He's an ordained Baptist minister, he is extremely right and "religious". He has compared homosexuality to necrophilia, need I go on? Has anyone every been to a Southern Baptist service or funeral? Is the guy on that pulpit the one you want in the oval office?

If you judge a candidate by who their supporters are Huckabee would be a laughing stock. His top 3 celebrity supporters are Ted Nugent (Psycho), Chuck Norris (Action hero) and Ric Flair (Pro Wrestler). What a lineup. That would probably pull some votes in if they went on tour, but hopefully not likely in the polling places. I don't think there's room in those little booths for Nugent to perform or Flair to body slam someone. Also, no room for a Total Gym, although I'd make room for Christie Brinkley.

Perhaps you're leaning towards Ron Paul? Not I. Gravel? Not likely. Fred Thompson? Nope.

For me the only question is Obama or Hillary. I don't think we can do bad with either one, but I am more in line with Obama. Edwards would be ok as a VP, but he's too religious for me. I think the last 8 years should've shown that we need someone who can think on their own, not listen to the Bible to dictate how situations are handled and policy set.

Anyway, thats my political rant for now. I'm sure there's more to come.
